Chretien and Martin

This cartoon describes the Chretien V.S. Martin situation pretty well. When Chretien fired his finance minister Paul Martin, it wasn't too bright of him. Martin ran for leader of liberal party and quickly shot ahead of Chretien in the public's opinion.

The cartoon interested me because it gets the message across without any words, and I like cartoons that can do that well. Also, I always thought there was more competion in American politics, so it interests me when I see it in Canadian politics.

This cartoon impacts me because, well, could you imagine what would have happened if Chretien had remained as Prime Minister? I'm sure Canada would be much different than it is today.

Bush Knew Nothing About Hijack Threats

Apparently, in the weeks before Sept 11th, the government obtained intelligence, stateing that terrorists might hijack U.S. jets. However, the Bush administration said that the information was too vague to act upon. And the WORST part is, they didn't tell Bush ANYTHING about it.

This cartoon intersted me, because I've always liked it when people make fun of George Bush, because the guy is just such an idiot. This is also one of the only cartoons I've found so far that has made me laugh out loud.

This cartoon not only has a huge impact on me, but on many others as well. This cartoon really displays the stupidity with which the bush administration led America. Had they been smart enough to act upon receiving such intelligence, thousands of lives could have been spared.
